November 2017 - American Torch Tip has released its next-generation plasma consumable technology. CleanCut  consumables are durable, last longer and cut cleaner than standard plasma consumables. Designed and compatible for multiple high-amperage systems, CleanCut also increases uptime and minimizes the amount of time spent on reaming, grinding and refinishing bad cuts. Furthermore, CleanCut prevents nozzle damage, supercharges the plasma arc, and reduces unintended bevel and tame bottom dross.

Jeff Walters Sr., vice president-plasma at American Torch Tip, discusses CleanCut’s makeup and underscores some of its features.

“Current CleanCut customers have already seen a vast improvement in their cutting operations,” says Walters. “Most see an average of two to three times longer life than standard consumables.”

CleanCut’s nozzle design is inspired by rocket-engine technology and uses choked-flow to propel gases at faster speeds and produce smoother cuts.

Some models of the CleanCut nozzle also have tri-cooling fins that allow for 200 percent more surface area to be exposed to coolant, which helps extend the life of the consumables. In fact, tests indicate that the CleanCut nozzle can extend a hafnium electrode life and achieve 25 percent to 50 percent longer production time. CleanCut’s high-velocity design reduces turbulence and stabilizes and accelerates the plasma arc column.

“CleanCut’s Electrode features a silver tip,” says Walters. “This increase helps extend hafnium life and the overall life of the consumables. The nozzle and electrode duo creates a powerful torch with clean cuts and long-lasting consumables,” he continues. “That’s what makes these consumables next-generation -rocket-engine technology and durable, silver-tipped electrodes.”

From raw materials to the final product, ATTC retains control of development, design, engineering and assembly at its U.S. facilities.

Bradenton, Florida-based American Torch Tip Co. (ATTC) has been manufacturing an assortment of welding and cutting torches, guns, repair parts and consumables since John Walters Sr. founded the business in 1940. Seventy-seven years after its establishment, ATTC is a global operation that produces over 16,000 pieces of equipment for six welding and cutting systems (plasma, oxy-fuel, laser, MIG, TIG and thermal spray) and replacement parts for more than 100 brands. ATTC, which manufactures more than 90 percent of its products at its facility in Florida, recently added CleanCut to its vast selection of consumables.
